An after-school 4-H membership in Nebraska is using gingerbread home engineering to teach students STEM ideas. “They don’t necessarily understand they’re coming to a STEM workshop, but that is completely what they’re learning when they’re engineering a gingerbread home,” Kara Wells of the 4-H membership says. As three San Francisco Unified faculty board members face a recall election in February, some dad and mom fear that it may imply a halt to the progress that’s been made to broaden alternatives for marginalized college students. Though 80{079fd2fe1626faeb1e3670dea717543ddea89cef1bb4f8c458ad28a4bbbf9fde} of Los Angeles Unified’s college students are on track to adjust to the district’s Covid-19 vaccine mandate, as of Monday, about 44,000 missed the first deadline, the Los Angeles Times reported. Students who are not vaccinated by Feb. 1 — the beginning of the second semester — will be assigned to unbiased High School Education study, based on the district web site. In the meantime, students and workers who aren’t yet vaccinated will be tested frequently.
